ABOUT ALLISON

Professional Life

Allison is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics located in southeast Michigan. She believes that learning to eat in a way that fuels your body and mind will lead to your healthiest self, whether your goals are to perform your best, feel your best, or heal your relationship with food and your body.

  

In addition to helping clients with sports nutrition, eating disorder recovery and wellness nutrition through her private practice, she is also the sports dietitian for Eastern Michigan University Athletics.

At EMU she provides nutrition support and counseling to all varsity student-athletes, coordinates the sports medicine eating disorder management team and runs the student-athlete fueling program. She has also served as a consultant dietitian for the Detroit Lions, assisted many local high school and youth sports teams, presented at conferences across the country, and worked with numerous athletes of all ages. 

Allison attended the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology for her undergraduate degree in Movement Science and then the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where she completed her Masters of Public Health in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.

Outside of work, Allison loves spending time outside with her husband and children and attending sporting events.  As a lifelong athlete, she continues to stay active by training and competing in weightlifting and functional fitness.  She has also run a sprint triathlon, 5 half-marathons and numerous 5k and 10k races. After almost a decade of coaching high school cheerleading, she continues her involvement in the cheer world as an MHSAA official for competitive cheerleading.

For over a decade, Allison was the sports dietitian for Eastern Michigan University. While there, she provided nutrition support and counseling to all varsity student-athletes, coordinated the sports medicine eating disorder management team and ran the student-athlete fueling program. She has also served as a consultant dietitian for the Detroit Lions, partnered with many local gyms, high schools, universities and sports clubs, presented at national conferences, given guest lectures and been featured in various forms of media

Allison attended the University of Michigan School of Kinesiology for her undergraduate degree in Movement Science and then the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where she completed her Masters of Public Health in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.

Personal Life

Outside of work, Allison loves spending time in nature with her husband and children and attending sporting events.  As a lifelong athlete, she continues to stay active through weightlifting, running, biking, yoga and hiking.  She has run 6 half-marathons, numerous 5k and 10k races, a sprint triathlon, multiple duathlons, and recently completed the bike + run portion of a 70.3 Ironman race. After almost a decade of coaching high school cheerleading, she continues her involvement in the cheer world as a coach for a youth cheerleading program and as an MHSAA official for competitive cheerleading.
